I could not disagree more with the Report written by the Cass Business School and National Association of Pension Funds mentioned in the following article http://www.moneymarketing.co.uk/pensions/napf-savers-face-%C2%A31bn-hit-from-unfair-and-opaque-annuity-system/1045546.articlernrnStop treating people like young children. Pensioners are well informed about the need to shop around for their annuities to ensure they get the best deal. The inference is yet more regulation and more state provision. In a time when the welfare state is so under strain there are many other more socially useful things the state should do or not cut or discontinue. It is very simple, if you want the best annuity deal shop around. Many IFAs like Wexdon will do this at no cost to the client. If they do not shop around they only have themselves to blame and should take personal responsibility.rn
