The proposed TV advertising budget mentioned in the following article http://www.moneymarketing.co.uk/pensions/dwp-to-run-auto-enrolment-tv-ad-campaign/1054215.article is a waste of taxpayers’ money. It would be cheaper and more effectual for the Government to work with the Independent Financial Advisory (IFA) industry and contact each employer stating that auto-enrolment is coming soon for larger employers and being phased in for smaller companies and giving the employer the contact details of three IFAs in their area to discuss their needs and for the IFA to discuss and educate on the best options. This would be a win for the Government in getting employers better prepared, a win for our industry, a win for the employer as they would be getting some free initial advice, and finally a win for the tax payer who is not spending their money on crude and likely ineffectual advertising.rnrnThis information is intended to provide a general review of certain topics and its purpose is to inform but not to recommend or support any specific investment or course of action.
