According to the following article http://www.moneymarketing.co.uk/pensions/ons-stats-confirm-isas-more-popular-than-pensions/1047078.article UK savers saved more in stocks and shares ISAs than pensions in the previous tax year. This is a very sad state of affairs. I remember reading 16 years ago that the UK was one of the best countries for pension savings. How foolish recent Government policy has been towards pensions. The real problem will be in 30 years time when the chickens come home to roost. The present Government believes remuneration in the banking sector should be in part at least clawed back if it is clear there has been a failure. I would dearly love the political elite to have unlimited liability for future taxpayers to sue should they make a huge cock up like the policy on pensions. The many millions of inherited wealth of Mr Cameron and Mr Osborne will be a drop in the ocean to cover the saving gaps from their policies.
